Four-Year-Old Writes Heartbreaking Poem for Sister with Cancer
Ruby Young is only two years old and has already suffered through more than most people do in a lifetime. The little girl was diagnosed with an agressive form of neuroblastoma, a rare cancer formed in nerve cells. The cancer is extremely difficult to treat as it had already spread into her bone marrow by the time she was given the diagnosis.
According to her mother, Victoria, "Ruby had a large tumor in her abdomen going up her spine and disease in her bone marrow." Ruby, who's in stage 4 of cancer, has two years of treatment ahead of her at London's Royal Marsden Hospital. Even if the treatment is effective for Ruby, relapse is very likely.
The Youngs are now raising funds for the Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Alliance (NCCA) to help Ruby and other children fight the terrible disease.
