'Human Barbie' Offends with More Than Her Appearance
In a world where plastic surgery is almost as accessible as registering for diet programs, it may not be surprising to hear that one woman has taken artificiality to an unheard of level. Meet Valeria Lukyanova. She's a "Human Barbie."
At 5-foot-9 and 92 pounds, the 25-year-old Ukrainian likes to think she is the epitome of modern-day race and beauty. No, seriously. In an interview withGQwriter Michael Idov, she confessed her belief that "race-mixing" is the real reason most people opt for facelifts.
"Ethnicities are mixing now, so there's degeneration. Remember how many beautiful women there were in the 1950s and 1960s, without any surgery?" she asked Idov over dinner (which, for Lukyanova, consisted of Indian naan-chutneys dunked in carrot juice). "And now, thanks to degeneration, we have this," she added before proclaiming her love for her Nordic image.
The conversation with the 18-inch-waistlined Lukyanova left Idov so baffled that he renamed the "Human Barbie," who also hosts meditations on "out-body-travel" and claims she communicates with extra-terrestrials, a "racist space alien."
But if you didn't think this silicone humanoid could get weirder, think again. A recent advocate of the breatharian diet, Lukyanova often subjects herself to "consuming" nothing but light and air, otherwise known to her as "cosmic micro-food." Did we mention the thought of having children "revolts" her?
"I'd rather die from torture," she told Idov, "because the worst thing in the world is to have a family lifestyle."
"Human Ken" aka 33-year-old American Justin Jedlica, another fan of going under the knife, thinks "Human Barbie" is "cute." But he "doesn't get why people think she's so interesting. She wears stage makeup. She's an illusionist."
