L.A.dy Dior The Film - Starring Marion Cotillard
Marion Cotillard in the Newest Lady Dior 2019 Campaign
If there is one iconic handbag that has passed through the sands of time and has reached the category of all-time favorite arm candy, that’s beyond doubt the legendary Lady Dior handbag. Millions of women cherish to touch that delicate cannage motif inspired by the Napoléon III chairs and the back of Louis XVI Medallion chairs and many crave to listen to the jingle of those gold- or silver-tone D-I-O-R letters – but not definitely Marion Cotillard. The French iconic fashion house has yet again tapped the French Oscar-winning 40-year-old actressMarion Cotillardto star in the newestLady Dior 2019 campaign. Shot by German photographer and director Peter Lindbergh, the campaign features the curly-haired out-and-out French woman meandering along the banks of the Seine Louvre boastfully demonstrating iconic Lady Dior handbags.
The Lady Dior handbag is now correlated with the name of the actress as firmly as it was once connected with Lady Diana. The talented actress, whose so triumphant fusion with legendary Edith Piaf brought her the desired Oscar, has been in charge to trot out the different versions of Lady Dior since 2008 having already fronted 15 campaigns. But it is definitely the Lady Dior Saga consisting of four short films that has labelled Marion as genuinely Dior girl who has pulled off to build several chapters of the brand’s history.
The Lady Noire Affair, directed by Olivier Dahan was the first chapter paying homage to the black version of Lady Dior. The second was Lady Rouge shot by Swedish music video director Jonas Akerlund that was followed by the most-buzzed-about Lady Blue Shanghai directed by the surrealist director David Lynch. The final chapter of the Lady Dior saga featuring Lady Grey was released in 2011, directed by John Cameron Mitchell with Marion Cotillard playing a seductive burlesque girl clothed with power through Grey Dior.
In the new Lady Dior 2019 campaign, Marion Cotillard is demonstrating a bronze metallic version with a micro canework pattern just in keeping with her autumnal beige trench coat, while in the second photo the black version comes up with a wide strap all embellished with colorful crystals and calling for new ways of carrying the epic handbag.
As WWD reports, the campaign will kick start on May 10 in Vogue China and Marie Claire U.S. with Le Figaro following on May 11. Stay tuned to learn more of the campaign.
